HHC's NEW TRADE IN and EXCHANGE PROGRAM is designed for Pilot's and Crewman that wish to Purchase a NEW or USED helmet and receive credit for their old helmet.

We gladly accept the following helmets for Trade/Exchange and we also purchase old helmets:

GENTEX: SPH-4, SPH-4B, SPH-5 and HGU 56P

ALPHA: 200, 400 and Eagle 900

MSA or CGF: LH050, LH150, LH250 & LA100

Trade in value/Purchase of helmets is based on the condition of the helmet and required work to bring helmet up to specs. Helmets are graded on a point system and credit is given for the amount of parts that are in re usable condition.

1. Helmet Shell must not have any cracks. Any cracks found render the Helmet completely unserviceable. Any usable parts will be considered, and value of parts will be offered to the customer.

2. Helmet Communications: Credit is given on workable earphone, ear cups, comm cords, and round mounts. We do not credit French Made Comm Cords, Earphones or Used Microphones. Cords must not be cut or stretched out of form.

3. Helmet Lenses must be scratch free and serviceable. Any visible scratches render the lenses unserviceable.

4. Chin Straps and Retention Assemblies. Gentex Retention Assemblies with cuts or frayed material will be considered unserviceable. Alpha Chin Straps with cuts or frayed areas will be considered unservicable. MSA Chin straps will be replaced regardless of condition.

Typical value to a very used helmet, based on the above expectations of wear, range from $250 to $500 depending on the Model, Condition and Expected repair for resale. Newer helmets traded in because of improper fit, dissatisfaction or other reasons will be valued at a fair market price.

We are also offering a special if you are trading in a MSA Gallet Helmet and purchasing a new SPH-4B, we will give you an extra 100$ trade in credit if your helmet meets the standards for trade-ins as listed above. That means you can get a new SPH-4B for 1280.00+GST Ready to fly painted any color you want.

Why on earth would you trade in a Gallet for a Gentex!!!!

Maybe because Gallets are made out of lego plastic and are destroyed after a few years? Not to mention the Gentex has a chinstrap that will keep the helmet on your head in the event of a crash.

Be that as it may in your opinion but its very interesting that you never really see second hand Gallets, generally its Alphas or the Gentex. Whys that?

I wouldn't trade my Gallet on either a Gentex or an Alpha. Gallet is way out in frount.

If my helmet was as good as the trade in requirements, I probably keep it.... just a thought.
