Do New Zealand licences show single engine 'types' or do they only list twin engine type ratings?

Maybe - at your initial issue your licence will only have the types you trained on listed and then any further types are recorded in your logbook. You can pay to have them put on your licence but you don't have to.

Each helicopter in NZ is a 'type' though - no 'class rating'.
