I am in the very very early stages of working towards getting my license. I am loving the experience so far but I have seen a few forum discussions on the internet that have got me worried. I am currently employed in the Royal Australian Navy and my return of service obligation is due to expire in three years. I was looking into becoming a commercial pilot but given the large expense involved I would like to have a few things cleared up by people in the know.
How many hours are required before it becomes easy to find a job?
Are there many jobs available in Australia?
What is the pay like?
Many Questions

Re: Many Questions
Q1 - Finding a job will be easy no matter what your hours as long as you have your finger pulled out and are actively looking for the work.
Q2 - The are SOME jobs available, but as I said, so long as the finger is already out then you shouldn't have to much trouble finding the work.
Q3 - Don't be surprised to earn in the region of $30,000 for your first couple of years.

I'm a pessimist, that way I'm either always being proven right, or pleasantly surprised.
