Interesting. Wonder how many 'private' aircraft come fitted with a winch? Or is it just that he is a private pilot and the aircraft is a rescue bird? Something smells a bit funny about this story, so I'm not going to leap in and pass judgement. Certainly interesting though and not the easiest of places to carry out a winch.

Private company vs state rescue organisation, not exactly a private pilot.

What a great way to make people think that the professional rescue operators were not good enough, im sure that they made the good, safe decision to not fly the mission. Sensationalist media coverage like this makes people think and do stupid things.
