So 20 uav's working on the same fire 24 hours a day.

Sorry, just can't see it. I don't care how good your operators are, 20 at once working anything but a massive fire would lead to mid air collisions until you were left with about 4 airframes. And at night as well, don't think so, at least not in the foreseeable future.
uav's will be good at night for aerial mapping after the real machines go to bed.

Big numbers always work well on paper. Try putting them into practice and that's when reality bites.
Don't get me wrong, these toys are going to part of the industry but it will take a while and it won't be a huge part.
Hand in Pants, I'm thinking, my god, that IS huge!!!!!!!!

It is actually one of my companies I have been making large bespoke UAV’s for very long time, I know my costings and margins.

CAD, CFD and structure FOS done. Ground up design not adaption of existing air frame 5 mtr long tandem layout.

Tooling is currently being evaluated in the US, first airframes ready for testing end 1st qtr. 2017.

~6 months flight and destruction testing in the US and then looking to have initial trials in Oct, Nov Australia. Certification will be something new but have partners here already looking to sort that.

I have never done work on the civilian side and so this is something different.

Never even thought about fire drones, only doing it because everyone keeps telling me you can’t.

Regards,

Gregory

Thanks for the replies about the S76, I didn't know, so I asked.

Never even thought about fire drones....really Gregory?

Your previous posts seem to contradict that. Also, what's a tandem layout drone?

I think you're probably hearing that last word the wrong way...

Drones are coming, they will fill in a void and do a lot of things better. Hopefully it's not you cause your smug approach reaks of unprofessionalism.

Hi Greg,

I'm all for progression but you talk a big game, and although there's heaps of experience on this forum these guys aren't your end customer so I think you're wasting your time. You should get back in your garage and keep tinkering.

I can't wait to see your first product though.

I actually said in my of my first posts that it would be very good for the industry to have experienced pilots flying UAV's and not guys that have done a 3 hour quad course and are off flying UAV's.

And since that post have meet some individuals that share the same thoughts which was my goal, 20 yrs flying + UAV outstanding combo.

That being said It is obvious I have no idea what I am talking about.

Gregory

Well guys, I'm a full time fire pilot and I reckon Gregory is onto something. I think eventually a lot of high risk flying will be done with UAV's. Hopefully after I retire but it's going to happen. It's going to make the war stories in the pub pretty dull though!
