Re: Blackhawks for Australia
So bascially all the replies in this thread have not given you ANY incite to potential issues in regards to this topic? Better to be informed and threrefore cautious rather than just walking in and hoping for the best?
You are completely correct in regards to the fact that no concrete information has been forthcoming yet as of this time everyone that has read this thread has a somewhat better understanding of what could go wrong before anyone signs their life away hoping for a gig? The question then is why is it so difficult to provide solid details when you talking about something that could be worth 50+ mil and would have a huge effect of the industry.
Waiting for a "Facebook" announcement from a company that is run out of a residential address is a huge concern. And again ne would ask who started this thread?
Is it better to hope for the best or prepare for the worst?
Regards,

Re: Blackhawks for Australia
I often check out this forum, interesting chatter most times but this thread has got me interested and time to join in.
I cannot understand the negativity some have against a decent fleet size of Black Hawks coming down under. From what I am reading, and hearing in the crew room, this gig has the backing of a large European operator and has OEM, so Sikorsky backing. No negative radio noise from Sikorsky suggesting no involvement.
So unlikely these guys are doing a Timberline operation with just one old UH60A. Others have mentioned T700D engines and upgraded transmissions. These guys seem to know what specs they need to have a decent aircraft. And if you are bringing in a reasonable fleet there must be more than just firefighting in mind.
For those who think there is no experience with Black Hawk in this country, don’t you know the Defence Force has being operating Black Hawks in this country and overseas now close to 30 years. The first Black Hawks flew for Defence back in 1987. There will be a lot of ex Defence pilots and technicians now working in EMS and off shore helicopter operations who will be watching with great interest.
Need I mention Seahawk? The Australian Navy have being operating Seahawks for about the same time, 30 years. How many ex Navy types work in your company?
So if you think it’s not on, fine, stay in your holding pattern and make room for what sounds like is going to be an interesting development in Australian rotary wing operations.
Clear right

Just to put the NGO/Charity issue to bed..... My understanding...StarFlight AOC (not LifeFlight), Kaan Air Australia is purchasing the aircraft. Wait for the announcement in the next week or so. Get on board!!!
Hence i am using Kaan Air Australia registered business address.
