hi
I have my pilot coming to Australia after flying more than 8000 hours in Afghanistan, what would be the process for him to fly here? would it be to much complicated?I understand it is a process with CASA to validate the licence, is that all?

CASA web site, http://www.casa.gov.au
Then link on left for licences, then on the next page look for FAQ and converting overseas licence.
Different circumstances have different requirements. For example an overseas military licence must be converted to a civilian licence first. CASA don't recognise overseas Mil licences.
