NZ to AUS CPL conversion 'ELP'

Hi guys,

I see now there seems to be a requirement for NZ CPL holders to have an "English Language Proficiency" to convert NZ CPL to AUS CPL.

Does anyone know if this is still for case for a NZ born, NZ educated, i.e. English speaking person?

From what I can tell, to do from NZ I would have to do an assessment with ASL for about $120 and then get that endorsed to NZ CPL for another $100, which seems excessive and un-neccessary !

Can anyone who has been through the process let me know how they got on please?

Also, wondering how the cost adds up at the Australian emabssy or high commission getting all copies certified.

Cheers!!

Hey mate just gone through this process!!

Yes you have to do a ELP!! $125 to do test. Piece of piss obviously, then $130 to get on licence..... CAA you crooks :?

Aussie High Commission will certify your copies for free.

Hope this helps.

Cant help on the english test sorry.

But getting everything sign is the expensive way, just make sure you do your stat delc correct, and list all the paperwork on there, the lady at the oz high commision just check it off and certifies the stat delc , cost about $30 from memory. You dont need to get everything certified, just stat del

Wasnt free if you do it in nz

Just went through the same process recently, the only way I got around not having to pay up the extra money for the STUPID english test was by showing that I had it on another ICAO license (PNG) of all licenses, so just incase you have another license, that is an option...... such a rip off load of BS.

Good luck, and yes, make sure to cross your T's and dot your i's with everything else.

It's an easy test, you'll be right Cuz.

Just remember it's Esky, not chilly-bin; Crowded House are Australian; and six is a number, not a verb.

Having UK FRTOL, FAA CPL/FI, but FAA 'ELP' is declared as meeting Level 4 by some Notice letter, but not written on actual license. I also can't just do ELP test in Europe as it'd not be the same as the country of origin of pilot licence using for validation/verification converting to OZ system. Well, bee-roux-crazy. Don't blame the ladies at CLARC.

One of the flight schools at archerfield be it rotary or fixed wing should be able to do it if the right person is there.
