grab a cut of sirloin steak, cook to medium rare, use lime flavoured olive oil

It's too short recipe. I mean it's like 5 minutes noodle kind of thing. Instant food. :D

Funny.....last night we went to a new restaurant near home here in the middle of Thailand.....I ordered this beef salad and while it was at a somewhat upmarket bistro...it was expensive and small....I was shocked by the tiny size of it all for roughly $9

But....it was outstanding....a green pesto kind of sauce with it...fresh lime...small sweet cherry tomatoes and the big difference that I had never had with it before was sweet red grapes sliced in half....mmmmmmm

I always found it was better to go down the less commercialised places, good sized meals and better food, way less expensive,

Are you living and flying for work in Thailand Nawty? I've got no idea about the helo industry in Thailand but If you are, I'm coming over, attacking you with mind bullets and taking over your life.

Thailand is an awesome place to visit let alone live and fly for a living. :D

No, not flying....just living....well not 'just' living.......

I gave up flying years ago to make more money in something else and then retired here 8 years ago when my first child came along.

I miss the flying for fun....but not for work.

Flying here is somewhat different....don't think foreigners are welcome and there is not much commercialised flying.....most seems to be military. You simply do not see many...if any...private company helicopters or light planes flying around Thai airspace as in other countries.

A few companies have over the years tried to start, but because of the countries regulations, red tape, bribes and such.....they rarely become a reality. A few companies tried to do transfers and such in Phuket....but failed to get off the ground. I think a local well connected Thai company is doing it now a little bit.

But to be honest, i have never really looked into it much here.

Only in the last few years has a hospital in Bangkok started a somewhat dedicated medical recue heli service....imagine that......but even then the heli is also used for other commercial services such as joyflights....so god help the injured person that needs it when it is out half way to Phuket on a joy ride.

I did notice a distinct lack GA when I was there a while ago. I commented a couple of times to the missus wondering if they had the infastructure/demand etc for a company to start up. Shame.

Thats not a joke.......it has to do with Buddhist and if your time has come, it has come.

I was laying in a ditch about 6 years ago after a motorbike accident, could not move to well from the pain. the missus went and pulled over a passing taxi truck.....his rather laid back attitude was to tell her he would go drop of his 2 passengers first and be back shortly.

another day i was in a coffee shop....a lady out front got hit by a car....the rescue service vehicles came, put her on a stretcher and threw her in the back of a pickup on the stretcher alone....in the direct sun and sliding all around the back of the pickup as he roared off into the smoggy sunset.

And another......same kind of situation, the victim put in the back of rescue pickup, but this time 2 personal jumped in the back with the injured.....the truck took off and as each assistant settled in, they forgot the patient and he went sailing out the back of the pickup and down the road........

Seriously....this country has s#!t happening every day to keep comedy central busy for years in advance.

Just driving a motorbike around Thailand is deadly enough. The small Island I am on there must be a couple people a week that die or more, usually crazy thai drivers but also a lot of foreigners. Just talked to a young guy the other day with a broken leg. After a good night drinking he took a motor bike taxi home which missed his street and pulled a U'y into an on coming truck. he said the taxi driver took off running and when the Police showed up they tried to charge the young foreigner for the damage to the truck which he continuously refused to pay as he was only the passenger. Funny how when there is an accident they always try to charge the foreigner. Oh yes "The land of smiles" Oc:=
