Hi, My name is Kevin Perry and I am a Senior Lecturer at Central Queensland University in the Accident Forensics school. I am based in Adelaide, but our 'crash laboratory' is in Bundaberg. At the lab we have planes, trains and automobiles, as well as plant and equipment in various crash/incident scenarios. We are seeking a helicopter to place in the artifacts to allow students to do some analysis/crash scene preservation etc.
We would like a helicopter that has been pensioned out, or even one that has been in an incident that has been written off. Obviously one that has not been too 'scavanged' would be the best. We can arrange transport, but obviously the closer to Bundy the better would suit.
Any ideas or leads would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Kevin Perry

Hi Kevin,
Try Peter Boyle at Helicopter Rebuilds, Port Macquarie (02) 6584 7800. I'm sure he's got something that may fit the bill.

Hi Kevin.
Twisty is on point.
If that fails, I'm sure there are some out back stations throughout Australia that can help.
If not, I can certainly try and help.
Dollars will have to be exchanged tho which is out of my control.
Please let us know how it works out for you.
Good luck!
GF.

Thanks GF
I will try the suggested people. We were thinking about outback stations with R22/44s or similar. I understand about the $$s and can go to the powers to be with cap in hand when I find something.
Thanks for the assistance, and I will keep looking.
Kind regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin.
Happy to help mate with R and D when it comes to the safety of our industry.
As mentioned, I would love to assist but $ will be a hurdle.
I have the connections and know of wrecks out there that would suit your research.
Let me know how you go.
Good luck!

Re: Looking for a helicopter wreck - Got one!!
Hi,
Thanks for all of the leads and suggestions. We had a Jet Ranger AB206 delivered to our Bundaberg campus last week, so we can now safely say we have planes, trains, automoblies and a helicopter for the students to ponder over.
Once again thank you for all of the interest. This is a very informative site, and I am sure I will be on it again. My colleagues and I are doing some research in an area that might be of interest to some of you. I will be in a better position to explain when we get it all sorted.
Once again thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards
Kevin Perry
