Tend to agree with you HIP. Can’t help but think a year in gaol and a reasonable fine would be a good start to encourage others not to repeat such a stupid, childish act.

54 years old?!!! If he doesn't know a completely stupid act by that age, I doubt a fine is going to teach him anything.
