As far as I’m aware the unions stopped it as they saw (pardon the pun) mass job losses. Similar situation happened to HAWCS with their human external cargo thing. Unions complained. One operator is having some luck doing the HEC thing in a single now.

I would be interested to see how production is with this saw system with the Aussie hardwood.
As pine , spruce the northern timber you can cut with a bread knife.
Just not sure if it would last a full day without sharpening

A few of us here worked alongside Ian back in the “frosty boys “ days between 97-00 in Tumut, some of the best times ever we’re had in that hut at Tumut river orchard!.

He is a great guy and was always a pleasure to work with and share many memorable times. Was nice to see the videos of Ian thanks for sharing.
