Antarctic Doco?

Postby Friendly Black Dog » Thu Apr 24 2014, 09:29

Anybody seen a Doco shot on the ice in around the mid/late eighties? It wasn't shot with Heli Res so it must have been HNZ/HA or whatever they were calling themselves at the time. S76 was the ship... I'd be interested in a link if possible?

I think you're looking for "the silence calling" by Tim Bowden. There was a book too.

Not sure but I don't think so. Anybody else? I specifically remember the pilot calculating PNR's, possibly during some sort of SAR mission?

There was one done round those times with Dick Smith as a major sponsor at the time, went down on the ice breaker ship called "Sir Humbert Wilkins", Black Duck knows more, he was the pilot on that mission... Send him a pm perhaps? :)
A good idea needs landing gear as well as wings to get off the ground.
