. Check out the rise in sea level...it's actually 0.65mm per year, for the last 200 years (a little before "carbon" was the "cause" !). Also, and again, how do you explain the sea level drop of over 800 feet from my home ? 8)

1. Industrial revolution 1760 - 1840.
2. Land rises and falls as well as sea levels e.g. Plate Tectonics. Current sea level rise appears to be 3.3mm per year since 1990.
3. 800ft is not very far if you've got hundreds of thousands or millions of years to cover it.

Holy Crap Arrrj, at that rate (3.3mm/year) in 73891 years, you will be beach front. We're all doomed!!!!!

ET,

Sitting in my deck chair...waiting for the sea !

Feeling good...but not sure I can wait that long...74000 years ?

And it IS 0.65mm per year...not 3.3mm...so it is far longer.

Off to have a beer...will that help ?

Funny thing about climate change is that it used to be global warming. Then when we said it was crap, we were called denier's and sceptics. Now we know that they lied/hid/changed/left out facts we're still wrong.

The disgusting thing about their climate change is that they are making huge money out of it for nothing. We are paying big subsities to "green power" producers who produce the most expensive power available.

Take the hybrid/electric car, little or no emissions to run. Sounds very environmental, and it is, until you plug it into the wall and use electricity from a coal fired power station to recharge it. Again, crap.

Take all of these clowns/activists who show up and protest at mine sites and coal loaders and the like. They didn't walk there, they drove and judging by the style of these morons, it wasn't in an electric car. They go home and turn on the lights (more electricity from that dirty coal fired power station), just a bunch of hypocrites. These same idiots who don't want coal, don't want nuclear, a true no emissions power source.

They don't want change, they just want to stop progress.
Hand in Pants, I'm thinking, my god, that IS huge!!!!!!!!

What I don't understand is why in a country with lots of sunshine and in some parts very little rain that more solar power isn't being produced. Some of these farmers out in western qld e.g. could devote their land to profitable power farming instead of trying to continue raising livestock in areas that have seen no rain in years. Now obviously I'm not dumb enough to think that this can be done without huge investment but power generation is a growth industry. Our power needs are growing at an increasing rate and yet clean and sustainable power generation isn't being developed fast enough to keep up.

There are also far better/cleaner ways of generating electricity than burning coal or oil. Solar/Tidal/Wind (not convinced that wind is really an answer myself) As has been said the greenie sitting in the prius is damaging the environment, long term, far more than the increasingly efficient petrol and diesel car. Electric cars aren't and probably never will be the answer. Remember years ago they told us with the advances in the internet we could all be working from home and wouldn't need cars? That hasn't happened either. All that has happened is that a greater percentage of the population are connected and needing more power. Take a look around your house and see how many transformers you have plugged in. TV, Stereo, phone chargers, and more. These things are consuming all the time.

Carbon taxes and carbon trading is just tax by another name. The money is required to keep buying votes and governments are having to become more inventive in ways of getting it out of your pocket and into theirs.

Hello
Climate change has been invented and organized by UN which is a socialist organisation and very powerful , it is why the Kevin Rudd and Gillar stick to it so well hoping for a seat there when they are out of office

I agree with many of the opinions here. Climate Change is just a business model that many scientists depend on for continued grants and businesses for lifeblood. I will never forget the photo of Rudd stepping off the plane at Copenhagen for the climate change conference where he and Al Gore were hoping to convince the world they should eventually move to a world govt. with Rudd as president. The Arctic winds were blowing a blizzard with record low temps as he stood at the top of the plane steps.

The report that the Himalayas were melting away was the start of the debate. That report has since been proven false and the scientists discredited and shamed.

Zebt's comments about not being able to tackle the illness of a world labouring under too many people is correct. If we halved the world's population today we would still have too many people. The world's biggest polluters also have the greatest population growth. Think about this next time we rush to their aid.

Truthinbeer ,
do not worry about sea level and ask Tin Flannery the expert in climate change and predict a alarming water level increase while He bought a waterfront house!!

And all the time taking his paycheck as govt climate change advisor.

He advised that we would never see Warragamba Dam full again in our lifetimes. It has been full to overflowing (they had to release water) 3 times since as many of you who fly over it could attest.
