There used to be a lot of job satisfaction in this work, but that was 30 years ago. probably still worth doing, and the toys are a lot better that a NVFR B206 and a UBD to navigate by.

I didnt use UBD, I used Melways, but dammmm I knew how to use it. Wasnt flying at the time, but I was a HVAC sercice tech, all our jobs would be given to us with a melways ref, now days everyone just uses their phones

I’m tipping a Melways was never much good in Sydney;-)
But; where Melways are used, they still use Melways references.

Being only 19, I must admit, I had to google "UBD" and even then I was a bit lost.

For you newer arrivals, a UBD is a little bit like a USB, but only because it has the letters "U" and "B" in it.

See I once decided to drive to Sydney (had my license 3 weeks), And didnt know that Melways was a MELBOURNE thing hahaha
Got there pulled out the melways and took me 30min to figure out what i did wrong.
