Is it possible to get an Australian medical in New Zealand?
If so where/who does them?

*sigh* You can get this info from the CASA site with only a couple of minutes of searching. Dr Daniels in Auckland does CASA medicals, there are at least a couple more.

I can recommend Dr Dave Baldwin in Palmerston North - http://www.flyingdoctor.co.nz/home

He's what I would describe as a "pilots doctor :) "

Shopping for medical in New Zealand...

On average how much does a Docter charge for a Class 1 New Zealand medical? also for the ones that do Australian Medicals how much do they charge?

I'm not in New Zealand and so just trying to get an idea of what to budget...

In America you can get a Second class Medical (good for Commercial ops... and it lasts a year) for $80

I know there is a filing fee for both CAA and CASA... just trying to figure out how much $$$ the Doctors want.

Yank,

Depending on what you're planning on doing you can use an NZ Class 1 in Aussie too (for a while at least). So that could save you the $500 it costs to get an initial Aus Class 1 in NZ.

If you get an NZ Class 1 medical then get an Australian CPL licence issued you can use the NZ medical in Aus until it needs renewing (1 year - depending on age) after that you will need an Aus Class 1.

Are you going to be working in both NZ and Aus? Or just want the option of both?

As for an initial NZ Class 1 not sure what that'd set you back these days exactly. Used to be around $500 but that was before the CAA upped the fees substantially so I'm guessing it's a fair bit more now (and I use the word fair quite wrongly)
