Gday all
Former military and civil air crewie looking to get back into flying. Not in any rush but just wanted some advice from you guys. Left the industry a couple of years ago due to some personal reasons. Have worked in civil SAR and for a short period EMS. Just wanted to ask about maybe a future opportunity in Victoria. But happy to travel for a start. Also is there any casual work out there. I have Understand it would be hard due to currencies etc. just wanted to ask. I appreciate the advice.

Cheers all

We've had a couple of old crewies who wanted to get back into a bit of flying come work for us. Mainly ex EMS guys, not looking for full time work. We mainly do the fires in NSW with a few winch machines and are willing to give them a shot. Most are bit rusty but doesn't take long to blow the cobwebs off, a couple of shot bag winches and a bit of C/A work usually gets them back in the saddle and with a bit of fire work training and check rides, they are good to go. So one option for you might be to get in contact with some of the contractor companies that supply winch machines in NSW, if you are willing to travel during summer.
Good luck in your quest.

Jacko.

Get in touch with CHC. They have the contract for RAAF SAR out of East Sale. Don’t imagine you’d be busy but it’s a start.
