Superannuation

Postby Zeus1980 » Mon Jul 25 2016, 22:37

I am looking for a good Superannuation fund that covers both Pilot's and Engineers as I am both. I have looked at the AAPMBF but they seem to be only geared towards airline pilots.

Is there a industry super fund?

Sorry if this thread has already been covered.

Another option is manage your own super depending on your circumstances, financial position and your motivations. By financial position I elude to super balance as the main driver of whether this is viable cost-wise. No longer do people need significant balances to make it cost effective depending on what you want to achieve.

Failing a self managed fund (SMSF) I am not aware of restrictions with industry funds. Anyone can join almost any fund (eg anyone can join CBUS and you don't need to be in the building industry to join). I'd suggest some research to identify various industry funds and see what product seems most appealing and suitable to your circumstances.

If you want to discuss the SMSF path feel free to PM.

Try calling Michael Gillet at Country Wealth.
He did an excellent job on pilot insurance for me and he's an honest guy who supports this industry.
He will happily advise you without obligation.

John Ellis from Pilot Insurance also specialises in life and trauma insurance for rotary wing pilots and looks after a fair number of pilots especially in the ag industry. He did a great job on my cover including income protection.
