Re: ATPLH Perf and Loading
I self studied this exam about 3 years ago using AFT material and got 100%. If you stick to the formula that is in the AFT notes you should be fine.

How does ATPL Perf differ from CPL Perf out of curiosity? Currently studying CPL Perf, seems straight forward enough from the AFT text

Great intel Twisty.
I wonder when CA$A will change the S76 questions over to the AW139 as the 76 is an old frame now these days and rarely used compared to the 139 and it appears to have taken over here in Aus.
CA$A, working for safer (and more expensive) sky’s..

There is always an option.

I completely agree Godfather007. I don't know if the 76 is even being flown in Australia anymore given they've been retired from offshore and RAAF SAR as far as I'm aware. Many of the exams need a contemporary make over for the sake of relevance if nothing else (why are we still studying a B767 for our ATPL-'HELICOPTER' exam.
Apologies for the thread creep.

Thanks for the info Twistgrip, so it sounds like much the same topics just in greater detail.
Enjoying the W&B side of the course, its pretty intuitive. Just get confused around basic stuff like DH questions (specifically DH at point B but you have temp/QNH for point A)...

Re: ATPLH Perf and Loading
When you get to the point where you have to use the horrendously photocopied 76 performance charts for the questions. Do yourself a favour, go out and have them blown up to 150% then converted from A4 to A3 if you can do it at the same time its cheaper. Much better chance of discerning the thickness of a pencil line between one answer and another. Bloody shameful the crap this regulator makes you have to go through, I'll not go into the 767 stuff etc.
