I think its still valid for only two years, but places like NSWRFS etc will accept validity to three years...

Desertflyer I have done it there (IFAP) and it is conducted in a very professional manner. Top notch purpose built facilities and indoor (good for winter). I believe the "freo harbour" part you may be referring to is in relation to the escape boats launched from a "rig" out the back of there facility. They also from memory have a great coffee machine.

How much does the HUET course cost? I understand there would be a difference between companies/locations.. But a ball park figure?

RHO offer a very good HUET course. Also give training on the use of HEEDS. They also sell them ( small emergency dive tank for underwater escape ) as well, the latest US divers SRU 42 P ( I think it is )
