All you need to do is add your post to this thread then send me a PM with a postal address to send the calendar to.
Have a good Christmas everyone.

There are so many moments, etched in my mind but I would think any morning at dawn, in the mountians of NZ chasing a red stag while looking over Baz the shooters shoulder in the 500.
Thinking " we're getting paid to do this!!!!" Holy cow.

Round up the usual suspects

The look of delight in people's faces as you take off and they are on their first helicopter ride.
And them saying 'they are jealous that I get to fly every day'

My first solo flight would be most memorable. Crapping my pants to having having the biggest smile, hearing my instructor in my ear. One of my biggest achievements.

At first I thought that passing CPL(H) would be the best that could happen but then I took my wife on our first flight and her first in a Helicopter. Her initial nervousness was replaced by wonder at the scenery and how smooth the flight was. I guess there will be many more in the future but so far that tops it.

Great idea Ned.
For me having done a job I hated for years, strapping into a helicopter and knowing I'm getting paid for it still makes me smile every time.
Most memorable moment was skimming through the top of the clouds one night towards the setting moon.

In the industry for those moments that challenge you and take you outside of your comfort zone. Thankfully utility work allows for this regularly.
Most memorable moment was when I had an engine quit halfway through an ag turn with a full load, on a hot and humid day.
Cheers

It's a dream come true to be a part of this industry, an honour and privilege, and I pinch myself sometimes to remember that it's really me and really happening Most memorable moments, well these been a few. During training my first solo navs were awesome and challenging. These days on charters I often just feel "in the zone" with the simple fact of flying as a professional pilot, taking in the awesomeness of it all with the view from the air and (usually) happy people in the machine

Hi Ned,
My highlight for this year was taking friends for their first helicopter flight. The best flight was with two aeroplane flight instructors. Both were incredibly impressed and now thinking of learning to fly helicopters. Priceless!

Well, I enjoy the office & the things that we get to see that no one else does, so that's probably the thing I enjoy the most. It does beat driving a truck most of the time. Trust me on that.
Most memorable moment.....bit hard to pinpoint. Flying Mick Doohan was a definite highlight. Chasing/Filming off road buggies was right up there, but its probably my first run at bucketing for real on a fire takes the cake.

Thanks Ned,
I love the freedom to travel anywhere.
Most memorable moment this year would be flying punters into the Avalon airshow. One very enthusiastic passenger in particular was on his own so he had paid the full charter price. When I got the clearance into the helipad I was lucky enough to end up on finals parallel with a Jet fighter. He was absolutely peaking off it so was quite cool for me seeing that enjoyment.
Thanks again,
Ben

The amazing office that we get to work in. Also the wide variety of machinery that is available to fly. All the people that make the industry what it is today, some good yarns to be had.
Most memorable memory would be my first ever ride in a Hughes 300 that was top dressing our farm.
Making a dream come true with doing My Cpl, have never looked back.

Thanks for the awesome gesture Heli-Ops, Merry Christmas!
My highlight is flying people who have never been in a helicopter before and then seeing their reactions of sheer excitement, awe and pure joy. Puts a smile on my face every time!
Thanks again and safe flying for all!

Good on you Ned, great tradition that always puts a happier vibe into the forums.
I personally, like seeing improvement and progression in the junior guys I 'teach'. When they nail something and look to me for pointers on what they've done wrong, and I just make something up to keep the authoritive figure
I also love seeing the kids that get exposed to what we do, either it a wave as we fly over or a visit at a local airport and we throw them up in the pilot seat. It's great to be able pay that opportunity forward as that used to be me staring up at the sky, amazed by the helicopter I could see.
And finally, cutting a low level run up the coast past my home town, taking photos to later gloat on my Facebook page Always gets good responses, although the people giving them almost certainly own a bigger home then I do. Pros and cons...
I'll sneak one more in. After pushing through the day in s#!t weather, mechanical turbulence and extremes of temperature, to have the wind die down and the sun come out on the ferry home. As close as you can get to that magic carpet ride.

Ned,
have loved my 15 years as a Crewie, lots of memories, s#!t loads of characters I've worked with and met. I think one of the memorable moments was my very first winch to a dinghy up in the Torres Strait out of the big white 412 and getting the paramedic in the boat and not killing anyone. So long ago it seems.

Thanks Ned,
I enjoy the ongoing challenge that the industry provides and the people I get to meet.
My most memorable moment was sitting on a sandstone cliff with a hot cup of coffee and a bacon and egg roll over the top of the Calvert river all covered in mist. Job brief gain inspiration from the outback. Magic!

Honestly some of the best things, besides creating the stories you live to tell about,
Is hearing stories on forum's like here, reading stories in books hearing it first hand from people.
We all have the same passion, and its awesome to see the smile on someones face when you can tell them what kind of things you've been able to do.
Every ones first solo is always a fond memory; It doesn't matter what machine it is, they all seem like a rocket first time round.
