We used to have the loady hold the blade on start in the Huey......one big kiwi could hold the blade for a long time! Then there was catching it on shut down.......

Our biggest crewman (sadly deceased in a 1974 crash) could hold the Huey's blade until 30% N1.
Stopping it? Saw one groundie climb the right-side cabin step toward the roof and grab the blade near the root - obviously wasn't going to have much mechanical advantage there - he got dragged across the roof and let go just before the head-first drop on the other side.
Also watched a tall junior Bog-rat grab a blade about two turns too soon, and perform a cartwheel in mid-air to land in a heap in the South Australian dust. Have never laughed so hard that it hurt.

Have watched a competitor (opposition) get to 61% N1 in a B206 before he realised the blades were still tied down. Big laughs at his expense.
