Employment offers have been made to the short-listed applicants for the Myanmar jobs. I think they are looking at a start date of 4th March or thereabouts.

If Hevilift 212 Captains are getting $160 AUD then I better renegotiate my contract.

Yes, for the IFR guys, taxed in PNG at whatever (35%?)
For Myanmar on S76C++ it boils down to about $110k USD/year clear...

Looks to me that the 212/412 jobs are VFR with mountain and longline experence, so what would that be worth.?????

For 212 longline in PNG Island Hoppers are paying $10k USD/month in the hand for 28/28. HL would be on about the same, so not much different to IFR

From what I've heard it would only be a select few that are on 10k a month at HL if they were paying good wages the pilots wouldn't be leaving.
Island hoppers have 3 212s and a 407 lined up on the ramp at Pom they have been there for a while

Can't be much room left at POM for parking helicopters, what with Helifix's machines lined up ready to jump into action as well, and they have a PNG AOC!!

Nothing unusual about that...the helicopter piloting cadre in PNG is very typically of a migratory nature for a number of reasons, not always for chasing the best deal on offer.

The HL gross pay figures look good on paper but at the end of the day its what you get in the hand. Judging by the take home pays of the other big players in PNG, it is understandable why there is a migratory nature away from HL. Long may it continue too.....it keeps the single engine drivers moving up the ranks

10k... good if you are getting that on your 28 OFF... Leaving usually has a bit to do with things other than money. Most operators used to pay pretty close to each other unless that has changed recently.
Operating a medium in PNG is quite a bit different from Oz (environment wise) so bit hard to compare salaries to here.

I would say, operating anything in PNG is quite a bit different to Oz....

"I would say, operating anything in PNG is quite a bit different to Oz...." er correct, hence the minimum experience requirements, long inductions, and higher salaries, etc ....
I assume Island Hoppers have an AOC now, or is Pacific Rim just an AOC for hire these days...?

The Pacific Rim AOC for hire can only be hired out one at a time, as far as I know. I would be very surprised if the Hoppers got through the AOC/MOC process, but if they have, well, good luck to them.
